Informeek is written and edited by one person. That shapes everything below: there is no editorial committee, no separate fact-checking desk, and no one to hide behind when something is wrong.
How articles are written
Every article carries a named author and a publication date. Where a piece has been revised after publication, the update date is shown alongside it.
Claims that matter are checked against a primary source where one exists — a company’s own announcement, a regulator’s published rules, a manufacturer’s specification — rather than another article repeating it. Where we are summarising someone else’s reporting, we say so and link to it.
Where something is tested rather than researched, the article says what was tested and for how long. A phone comparison written after a month of daily use is described that way; one written from published specifications is not dressed up as a review.
What we cover, and what we don’t
Informeek covers technology, business, sport, travel and entertainment, and publishes free tools that run in the reader’s browser.
We do not publish medical guidance or investment advice. Those subjects need expertise this site cannot demonstrate, and getting them wrong causes real harm. Where an article touches money or health incidentally, it says plainly that it is not professional advice and points readers to someone qualified.
Corrections
If we get something wrong we fix it in place and note what changed. Significant corrections — anything that alters the substance of a piece — are recorded on the article itself rather than quietly edited out. Typographical fixes are made without a note.
Report an error through the contact page. Tell us the article and what specifically is wrong; that is read by the person who wrote it, not a support queue. Corrections to a tool are treated as urgent, because a wrong number is worse than no tool at all.
Updates to older articles
Technology, prices and rules change. An article that was accurate when written may not be accurate when you read it. We revisit pieces where the subject has moved on, and the update date on the page tells you when that last happened. We do not silently rewrite an old article to look current.
Independence and advertising
Advertising is sold and served separately from editorial. Adverts are selected by advertising networks, not by us. Advertisers have no sight of, and no influence over, what we publish or what an article concludes, and no advertiser has ever been given a preview of coverage.
Where a post contains an affiliate or sponsored link, it is labelled as such in the post itself, at the point the link appears rather than in a footnote. If that ever changes in scope, this page changes with it.
Use of AI
Articles are written and checked by people. We may use software to assist with research, spelling and formatting, but a named editor is responsible for everything published here. Nothing is published that has not been read end to end by a person who is willing to have their name on it.
Reader data
The tools on this site run entirely in your browser. Anything you type into an invoice, a QR code or a calculator stays on your device and is never transmitted to us — which also means we cannot recover it for you.
